Abstract

In this chapter, we will cover the basic makeup of the Policy-Based Management framework and its internal structures. Some of the objects that make up Policy-Based Management include system tables, views, and stored procedures. All these items are stored in the msdb system database and work together to provide the foundation for Policy-Based Management. Having a general knowledge of the internal structures that make up Policy-Based Management can help you when you’re troubleshooting problems, as well as when you’re automating tasks.
