Abstract
Word processing goes back to the Middle Ages when printing and movable types were first invented. Then, in 1867, Christopher Latham Sholes and his colleagues invented the first manual typewriter. It was a long journey from that point in the history until now, when we have sophisticated word processor software available on the shelf for as low as $30.
