Abstract

As organizations continue to adopt the principles of service-oriented architecture (SOA), many new usage scenarios have arisen. Development teams throughout organizations are rapidly creating mountains of new web services. Off-the-shelf software packages are shipping with prebuilt web services to enable easier integration with other applications. Developers are using portals, mash-ups, and composite application frameworks to rapidly consume these services in order to create incredibly creative, rich, flexible, and powerful user-facing applications.
