Spreadsheets with Calc

Abstract

Spreadsheets aren’t just for accountants. I have a friend who uses spreadsheets to track his fantasy football team’s statistics, and a chef I know stores all her recipes in a spreadsheet, including extremely specific quantities for spices and cook times for individual herbs. Who knew cooking could be so scientific? These days, spreadsheet applications are as common as e-mail and word processing. The structure they provide for storing information and performing calculations goes hand in hand with the increased readability of a well-designed spreadsheet.
