Abstract

Strings, like numbers, require manipulation in just about every BizTalk map. String Functoids available in BizTalk handle many string manipulation requirements, but we resort to scripts for the same reasons that we did when working with numbers. Scripts allow us to perform complex string operations that are beyond the capability of functoids; they enable us to replace complicated functoid chains with simpler code; and they are often more reusable than functoid chains.
