Abstract

The most common and most challenging problems encountered with any mapping engine often involve looping. This chapter describes how the BizTalk mapping engine handles looping and presents a variety of techniques that may be used to solve basic looping problems. We will not discuss these techniques from a performance point of view, as each situation is different and may behave differently depending on the structure of the transactions and amount of data processed. If performance might be an issue, you should bench test different techniques with your data to determine if there is a significant performance difference in your situation.
