Irregular Data

  • Chapter
Beginning ASP Databases

Abstract

Most of the time, you deal with text, numeric, and date data types, and they are not terribly difficult to handle. These fields are all variants of either text or numeric data. However, from time to time you have to deal with special kinds of data, such as stored images, sound files, and other binary objects (sequences of un-interpreted bytes). These are generally referred to in the database as BLOB fields (“Binary Large OBject”).
