Abstract

Windows Services, also commonly known as NT Services, are processes that run in the background without a user interface. Examples of these are database servers, the message queuing system, Internet Information Services (IIS), and many network servers. If you are more familiar with Unix than Windows, these are the equivalents of daemon processes.
