Abstract

Internationally, NTT DoCoMo’s i-mode has arguably been the most successful wireless technology to date. With tens of millions of subscribers in Japan alone, i-mode’s success has been widely coveted by other carriers around the world interested in expanding the wireless Web. In fact, with more users than any other wireless Web service, NTT DoCoMo has made substantial investments in other wireless providers, including AT&T Wireless and KPN Mobile.
