Abstract
If you have been reading along since the beginning of this book, you may recall that in Chapter 1, I waxed enthusiastic about the enhanced security features available in Acrobat 5. In this chapter, I will examine all the security features at your disposal and show you how they work. We will encrypt files, lock documents, build and share signatures, and create and share certificates. Sounds like a lot, and it is.
A lot of effort goes into creating the complex documents we work with every day—images, text, drawings, information of all types. It’s important to protect a document’s integrity, and it’s equally important to control access to a document. Let’s look at how to make your documents secure on all fronts.
