Abstract
All your efforts up to this point are about to be rewarded, as we’ve finally reached the point where you are going to begin seeing the knowledge you’ve built up in the previous chapters combine to build a simple Rails application together. In the last several chapters, we’ve examined all of the individual aspects of building Rails applications—you learned how to use Rails to define our database schema and how to build Rails models to interact with those databases. We’ve discussed not only how to build controllers but also how to properly design them, and we looked at how we can embed Ruby to add dynamic content to our HTML templates (views). Last but not least, we examined the power of the Rails routing system and how it allows us to effectively map URLs to our controllers and pages.
