Abstract
In the previous chapter, we took the time to explore how incredibly easy the ActiveRecord library makes not only connecting to our database but also defining our database schema, doing the full suite of CRUD operations against any of our tables, and validating any data that will be inserted into our database. That was all pretty exciting and innovative stuff and if that was all there was to ActiveRecord, it would still be a monumental improvement to our web development processes. But of course, ActiveRecord has quite a lot more to it than just those features, and in this chapter, we’re going to take our exploration of ActiveRecord quite a bit deeper.
