Abstract
The online world was stable, for now. It looked as if Prodigy was never going to happen, and there were no newcomers on the horizon. Some small operations were still making noises about Minitel. A Canadian service called the NABU Network had tried to get an online service going in Washington, D.C., and quickly failed. A few other companies tried to develop local information and email services, but they were doomed to failure, having lost most of their potential market to CompuServe or one of the other established services even before they began.
