Abstract

In development and production environments, Database Administrators (DBAs) often must help migrate data. Data migration is the process of moving data from one place to another or transforming data from one format to another. A data migration task can be as simple as moving data from one table to another, or it can be as complex as converting an entire database—perhaps even from a different database platform—to a new schema that requires many intermediate steps and complex data transformation procedures.
