The Enterprise Application Architecture

  • Chapter
Designing Scalable .NET Applications

Abstract

As professional developers, it is quite frustrating to realize that we are making the same mistakes over and over again. It is hard enough to develop applications, let alone develop reusable and scalable solutions. Like most programmers, you have probably worked on a project that had you banging your head against the wall because of a problem and thought, “Ugh—that must have been dealt with before.” You probably have had a similar feeling when you talked to the architect of a project about some good patterns and all you got back was a “Hmmm, if we had some more time, we could have constructed this part of the application better. But since we already have coded this section, we can’t change it now.”
