Abstract
Visual Studio underwent a huge transformation when it moved from version 6.0 to .NET. Visual Studio .NET 2003 looks similar to previous versions and fulfills almost all of its previous functionality; however, the underlying foundation of the product has changed dramatically. The purpose of this chapter is to introduce you to these changes and display how a Software Configuration Manager (SCM) might work with the product.
