Abstract

Much has been written about the theory and application of color. Color is an integral part of life. Learning to plan, design, and implement color takes place over several years and numerous projects. This chapter offers a starting point to help you begin with confidence, to experiment, and to work with color.

The Mediterranean has the color of mackerel, changeable I mean. You don’t always know if it is green or violet, you can’t even say it’s blue, because the next arttent the changing reflection has taken on a tint of rose or gray.

—Vincent van Gogh, painter (1853–1890)
