Abstract
The move from manual memory management and deterministic destruction to a garbage-collected environment represents a huge paradigm shift for most Windows developers, especially those from a C/C++ background. It has been said that one of the greatest mistakes that can be made in transition to a new language or platform is to attempt to simulate all the techniques and patterns that are available in the previous technology This statement is especially true when it comes to garbage collection.
