Abstract

As we learned in Chapter 1, Section 508 requirements encompass everything from application data presentation, to the physical design of devices, to workstation furniture measurements. The rules tell you about the accessibility goals for your applications—they signify a desired result. In this case, the requirement is a law issued and implemented by the U.S. government and cooperatively followed by others, but the principle is that you have to accomplish application accessibility goals whether or not compliance is mandatory.
