Abstract

We would be rich if we had a dime for every time we saw ASP.NET list management controls used inappropriately, particularly the repeater, data list, and data grid controls. These awesome ASP.NET features can also be ASP.NET’s biggest problems, causing programmers to spend countless nights chasing the productivity mirage. The stories are the same everywhere, especially when they relate to the data grid control. So many programmers relentlessly pursue the rewards from this fruitful control only to find themselves cornered with a control that offers limited customization and performs poorly.
