Abstract
The BEA WebLogic Portal simplifies development of Web portal applications, enables personalization, supports the creation of business processes, and allows for easy access to information. BEA, as a vendor, has chosen to build its own portal framework using the BEA WebLogic application server. As we discuss in more detail a little later in this chapter, it has many of the basic services that any robust portal should have, such as the following:
-
• Presentation services
-
• Infrastructure services
-
• Security services
-
• Administration/Management services
-
• Access and Integration services
-
• Content Management services
-
• Development services
