Abstract

In this chapter, we explore the basic operations in MSMQ using unmanaged C++ to access the COM and Win32 MSMQ APIs. For each API we show you how to create, delete, open, or close a queue, and send or receive a message. We also demonstrate how to receive a message asynchronously using both the COM and Win32 APIs, and how to use the new LookupID property, which Microsoft introduced in MSMQ 3.0 for Windows XP. Finally, you’ll learn how to access the COM API from within the managed .NET environment using C#.
