Tying It All Together

Principle #5: Code-generated applications are high-quality applications
  • Kathleen Dollard

Abstract

You’ve seen how the big pieces of code generation fit together to build your applications. A handful of additional details allow you to achieve maximum effectiveness in your generation process. This chapter talks about the most important of those details—organizing files via the directory structure, building project files, incorporating source control, debugging, testing, and bringing your framework forward to start your next project. It also covers details of the code generation harness introduced in Chapter 3, including the specific directives you’ll use in later chapters to manage your code generation. Taking care of these details helps you create high-quality applications with successful life cycles.
