Abstract

Why is security important? The question in itself seems ridiculous, but the reality is that most people don’t think about security when creating database applications. Although many people gauge the success of an application on its performance, ability to scale, or ease of use, the ultimate success or failure may in fact rely on whether the application and subsequently the database can be or is compromised. If you know what’s available and how to use it properly, designing and building secure applications with PL/SQL is not only possible, but also relatively easy.
