Abstract

With SQL Server 2008, Microsoft is looking to continue its push forward into both the largest and smallest database environments in the world. Microsoft envisions a world where a single data platform can accommodate mobile applications running on handheld or embedded devices all the way up to the world’s largest enterprise database environments. With features like database mirroring, database snapshots, peer-to-peer conflict detection, hot-add CPU and memory, and data partitioning, Microsoft is moving closer and closer to this vision.
