Abstract

Chapter 5 introduced you to the Entity Framework (EF) and the toolset that comes with it. In this chapter, you will broaden your knowledge of EF by writing some code to use EF as an ORM. To increase your knowledge of EF, you will be working on independent examples that relate back to the HR structure in the AdventureWorks database. Because the ultimate goal is to build a data-centric application, this chapter begins to introduce you to the CRUD functionality in EF as well as lay the foundation for the more advanced discussions in the coming chapters.
