Introduction to LINQ to SQL

In Chapter 2, you learned the fundamentals of ORM and the patterns and practices needed to work with ORM—but forget about them for the time being, because you won’t be using those patterns in this chapter. Instead, this chapter introduces you to LINQ to SQL (LTS) through simple examples that highlight the features of ORM. To keep this chapter concise and focused on LTS, the Bottom Up approach is used because it is natively the most supported technique in LTS. Alternatively, when you map the FBP domain model by using LTS in Chapter 9, you will use the Top Down approach because it is the preferred method of building enterprise applications.
