Character Libraries

  • Tim Jones

Abstract

Character animation is a time-consuming and labor-intensive endeavor. Before computers, animators traditionally drew every frame of animation by hand, which often meant drawing the same thing over and over again. By harnessing the power of Flash’s library system, you are able to draw things once and reuse them. This does not mean that once the library is created you will not need to draw anymore! It simply frees you from the tedium of redrawing the same things over and over again.
