Beyond the Basics in CSS and Scripting

In Chapters 5, 6, and 7, you learned how to use CSS to make your website attractive and easy to maintain with styles. In this chapter, we will look at styling your content for different media. In several places in this book, I have pointed out that you have more control over how pages display when printed than over how they display on the screen. Using a print media stylesheet allows you to specify how a page should print. You can reformat a page so that only the parts of the page you choose are printed and so that you use print measurements, such as margins in inches or centimeters and type in points.
