Abstract

Have you ever see the old Steve McQueen science-fiction flick, The Blob? For the uninitiated, the blogosphere can be a lot like The Blob.1 At first, people don’t believe it’s out there. Then a few victims—also known as early adopters—encounter it. Seemingly overnight, it’s everywhere, coming through your browser when you are looking for things to buy, invading your email in the form of messages sent from people you know, absorbing all of your free and unfree time.

Great movie! Check out www.imdb.com/title/tt0051418/.
