Abstract

Ajax, or Asynchronous JavaScript and XML, was introduced in 2005 by Jesse James Garrett, sometimes referred to as the “father of Ajax.” Ajax is not a single technology; rather, it is a collection of concepts and technologies that allow richer, more interactive user interactions with web applications. The term Ajax has now grown to refer to any native browser technologies that allow for asynchronous communication with a back-end server.
