Summary

As you can see, there is an incredible wealth of possibilities with the new filters added in Flash 8. From Dynamic Motion blurs and Drop Shadows to transforming color and displacing pixels with Displacement, the array of options available is impressive. Of course, the examples you’ve just discovered are fairly basic examples of single filters. True power comes with the intelligent integration of multiple filters to create custom effects that can be applied dynamically, based on any number of dynamic input date. You can now create realistic environments with lighting and shadows or create weird and wonderful image transitions using some of the more complex filters. Don’t forget blending modes from the previous chapter either! With the combination of blends and filters you should be able to keep yourself busy for days experimenting and exploring unique visual effects!
