Session Beans

Summary

In this chapter, we reviewed JST’s support for the most common type of EJBs, the stateless session bean, as well its cousin, the stateful session bean. In order to generate all the interfaces and deployment descriptors, we showed you how JST uses annotations, specifically XDoclet annotations, to manage the complexities of keeping all the files in sync. In the next two chapters, we will demonstrate how to create entity and message-driven beans. Then in Chapter 11, we will discuss how to package, deploy, and debug EJBs in a J2EE application server.
