Abstract
The complex motion of an athlete performing in an event in the Olympic Games appears to be under-represented by the particle model, which we have readily adopted in early chapters. The quest to improve the accuracy of modelling real-world activities leads us to ask the question: How good is the particle model and will the rigid body model allow us to more accurately and productively model motion of everyday objects?
