Abstract

This chapter describes design techniques for systems that use the internet to support distributed processing: online banking applications, e-commerce, web-based teaching applications, etc. We describe technologies that can be used to implement such systems and give guidelines for modular design. An online booking function for the restaurant system will be used as a running example.
