Abstract
Identification and characterization of the genes and extraction of ‘knowledge’ from the genome databanks essentially requires annotation of promoter sequences and exons and interpretation of network relationship between gene activities. Bioinformatics research in the post-genomic era is largely focussed at this difficult task.
