Abstract

High-performance and lightweight characteristics of composite materials have motivated a wide range of applications of these materials in aeronautic and space vehicles and in naval, automotive and civil structures, among other fields [Bar2,BC,Mar,TH4,Ts,Wh]. The development of costeffective and reliable composite laminated structures requires advanced stress analysis and failure prediction methods.
