Abstract

In this paper we apply turbo codes to multi input multi output orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (MIMO OFDM) system with recursive least square (RLS) algorithm used for channel estimation to upgrade the performance of functioning MIMO OFDM system. We use RLS algorithm because it converges faster, so it gives better results as compare to others algorithms Results are simulated over a time varying Rayleigh fading additive white Gaussian noise (AWGN) channel. End goal is to boost system performance in terms of bit error rate (BER) by adding turbo codes. MAP algorithm is used for decoding. We analysis the results for 2x2 and 3x3 transmit and receive antennas with different modulation schemes. We evaluate that there is tremendous improvement in BER by adding turbo codes with RLS algorithm.
