尽管地球上常规能源的数量有限, 然而, 由于人口增长和工业化导致的对能源的需求却依然不断增加。化石能源的利用在过去促成了科技和社会的巨大发展, 现在正日益引起全球环境发生灾难性的变化。迅速扩大对诸如地热能这类可再生能源的利用可能会对缓解环境变化做出重要贡献, 许多国家在优先利用地热资源方面表现突出。本文将阐明地热能的主要问题, 如地热能的产生、相应的发电技术、供直接使用的地热利用方法等, 并集中分析一些最佳实践案例。本文后半部分主要介绍地热能在中国的影响。
