The Bulgarian Comparative Education Society (BCES)

The Bulgarian Comparative Education Society (BCES) was founded in Sofia in October 1991, and joined the World Council of Comparative Education Societies (WCCES) in March 1992. This chapter examines the preconditions, origin and development of the BCES. It also discusses the political, socio-cultural, economic and other challenges to comparative education in Bulgaria during different periods of history.
