Management plans should be made available to everyone who has an interest in the site. This will include people who do not have a scientific or technical background and may not necessarily have any interest in, or understanding of, wildlife or conservation management. Management plans are about communicating with this sometimes very wide and diverse audience. This suggests that the language used in the plan should, whenever possible, be plain and accessible to all. However, the use of plain language must not be taken as an excuse to be patronising or to diminish the value of the contents. It is also possible, though perhaps not essential, to share with others the values, feelings and enthusiasm that we have for the sites that we manage.
