NCBO is not limited to telecommunications networks and computer networking; however, network technologies play an essential role in supporting an enterprise’s IT business operations. The GIG and eTOM models discussed in the previous chapters demonstrated how technology infrastructure can support the enterprise vision of network-centric operations in a service-oriented environment allowing the enterprises to share capability with a minimum requirement for local functionality that a single host needs to possess.
