This chapter aims to provide a background account of the contemporary challenges and responses of the Sisters of Saint Paul of Chartres who are working in Thailand. Over the last 100 years, the congregation has striven to achieve its mission by providing an all-round education using a Christ-centred approach. However, with many contemporary challenges, especially from the secularisation of society, other problems have arisen, which will cause the sisters to face considerable diffi culties. This chapter will be categorised into four sections: the fi rst section focuses on the original mission of the congregation and their mission in Thailand. The second section aims to provide a picture of the contemporary challenges that the Sisters might face in the position of leaders of the school. The third section provides the response to those challenges and the fi nal section recommends further research that needs to be done in SPC schools.
