Abstract
As suggested in the first three chapters, PBL represents a major departure in teaching method for most instructors. In this chapter we focus on how instructors can create the conditions that foster effective learning in a PBL context. We discuss student responses to PBL as well as instructor roles, attitudes, tasks and behaviors that will lead to desired outcomes for students.
