Abstract
This paper presents the research that is being undertaken by the Transport Infrastructure and Systems Group of CESUR — IST, under the author’s leadership. There are three main research streams: Modelling and innovation in urban mobility management; Organization and technology as instruments for efficiency gains in large scale transport systems; and, Quality and safety of transport infrastructure. Most of this research is developed through PhD dissertations. This paper briefly provides the main motivation, methodology and expected results of the different research studies, as well as the labs and international networks that underpin this research effort.
