Abstract
The educational paths and attainments of the graduates, including their parental background, are not the key focus of this study. But this information is relevant for a better understanding of their subsequent course of study and career. It also provides helpful insights into the differences between the education systems of the 12 countries regarding such factors as the age at the time of obtaining the entry qualification to higher education, the number of years of schooling, and the students’ experiences before enrolment in higher education.
