Abstract

Apolariton is an electromagnetic mode related to the oscillation of polarization charge density. At the interface between two media with frequency dependent complex dielectric functions ε1 and ε2, surface polaritons with electromagnetic field exponentially decaying into both media may occur according to the well-known dispersion relation
