The Dependence of the IMF on Initial Conditions

Based on hydrodynamical simulations, we discuss the dependence of the initial mass function (IMF) on the initial conditions in molecular clouds and how the IMF may originate from accretion that is terminated by the dynamical ejection of objects from dense molecular cores.
