Mössbauer Spectrometer with Novel Moving System and Resonant Detection of Gamma Rays

  • Conference paper
ICAME 2003

Abstract

A Mössbauer spectrometer with the collective synchronous motion of the radioactive source and resonant detector has been built. The new special transducer with four drive coils and one velocity pickup coil has been developed. The polyamide fibers serve as suspension brackets, barium ferrite magnets are used. The mechanical construction of transducer allows using different cryostats and furnaces, because the sample is immovable. The resonant detector consists of the thin foil of the organic plastic scintillator with the dissolved substance converting the resonant gamma rays to conversion electrons.
