Most of the sources for this chapter are published in Chinese. This regional review of natural disasters in the People’s Republic of China reports on many research works on this area during recent years, especially some materials that were taken directly from the National Report of PRC on National Disaster Reduction prepared for the 1994 World Conference on Natural Disaster Reduction in Yokohama.
